Studio Weaving Assistant
We are looking for a Studio Weaving Assistant to work alongside our team. In this position, you will set up looms, hand weave custom orders and stock inventory on traditional and compu-dobby looms. You will finish textiles by sewing hems and preparing mounts for hanging, as well as assist with packaging orders for shipping. Occasionally you will assist with customer service, product and service explanation and sales. Position is for 2-5 days/week with flexible hours and some benefits.
Custom Woven Interiors is a small independent weaving studio established by Kelly Marshall in 1992. We specialize in creating functional and decorative textiles for the home or corporate settings across the US, and our studio is a vibrant, friendly and creative place to work.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Degree in Textiles or related field or equivalent training and experience
- Strong attention to detail and process
- Comfortable in a small production setting working with others and with guided instruction able to work independently
- Machine sewing skills a plus
